Indirect Tax Manager

About the role
At the global head office of Accell, the role of indirect Tax manager became vacant. This exciting role is positioned in the Group’s Tax Team and will contribute to the further improvement and growth of the tax team and will support the business with its ongoing global expansion. The tax department manages all tax affairs of the group and its worldwide located subsidiaries. The tax department sets the tax strategy and at the same time focuses on compliancy, control, efficiency, and optimization of all taxes, including Indirect Tax. As Indirect Tax Manager you will report to the Group Tax Manager. The tax department is part of the Group Finance Team, which also includes Accounting & Reporting-, Business Control-, Data Services- and Treasury teams.

As Indirect Tax Manager you will primarily be responsible for managing the Indirect Tax function of the Accell Group. You will advise and support the business worldwide on indirect taxes (VAT and – together with a customs manager – on Customs). You will have a dynamic role with frequent interaction with numerous functions within the Accell organization, such as supply chain, procurement, sales, legal, manufacturing, group finance and local finance. Furthermore, you will be in contact with the Dutch tax authorities as well as tax authorities abroad and will liaise with external advisors when necessary.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Provide Indirect Tax advice and support to business on specific transactions, projects and strategic initiatives (e.g. areas of supply chain, sales and business setup);
  • Provide Indirect Tax advice and support to Corporate Functions and local Finance/Operations Organizations within the group in relation to day-to-day activities;
  • Optimization of Indirect Tax compliance, governance and reporting;
  • Set up and execution of Indirect Tax Control Framework;
  • Monitor relevant Indirect Tax law changes and jurisprudence, assess the business impact, raise tax awareness, ensure that rule changes impacting the business are implemented;
  • Manage, mitigate, and resolve potential Indirect Tax risks and opportunities;
  • Manage Indirect Tax audits;
  • Liaising with external tax advisors and tax authorities.

What you bring
The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of working experience in an in-house setting or large international tax advisory firm. You have a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree and knowledge and experience with international VAT & Customs. You proactively take ownership of Indirect Tax issues and have the ability to work in a dynamic organization, embracing change and cooperating with your colleagues in the business. You are a self-starter, can handle multiple priorities and are result driven.
Being fluent in English is a must.
