What’s the job all about?
With ongoing changes and the need to improve how HR operates across the Netherlands and Belgium, the role of HR Manager is critical. This position focuses on bringing structure, improving processes, and ensuring reliable HR operations and data.
This role combines hands-on operational work with process improvement and stakeholder management, including close collaboration with the Works Council.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities involve?
Owning day-to-day HR Management and operations for the Netherlands and Belgium
Reporting directly into the CHRO
Leading and supporting a HR team of 3 people
Building and maintaining a strong relationship with the Works Council
Driving process improvements and streamlining manual HR workflows
Improving and maintaining HR master data quality and governance
Ensuring HR delivers accurate and reliable data to support business decision-making
Improving existing processes and ensuring compliance and consistency across HR practices
Supporting core employee processes
Responding to employee HR queries and managing operational follow-up
Working across multiple locations, including regular presence in Amsterdam and Heerenveen
Identifying operational issues quickly and resolving them with urgency
Translating business priorities into clear HR execution and team focus
Who are we looking for?
Minimum 8+ years of HR experience, including hands-on HR operations, process improvement, and leading a team
Minimum 3+ years of People Management experience
You will operate within a wider international HR organization, requiring the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
Proven experience in process improvement and streamlining HR operations
Strong focus on data governance and HR master data quality
Experience working with HR systems
Basic knowledge of payroll processes
Experience working closely with a Works Council
Strong understanding of Dutch employment law and its practical application
Experience working in complex or legacy environments, improving unclear or undocumented processes
Skills and attributes:
